FAQ

Quick answers to common UNpkl router, app, and Search questions.

Router and connectivity

Cannot login into the app

Make sure you are connected to an SSID (Wi-Fi network) on the UNpkl router

Check Wi-Fi SSID/Network

Lost password and cannot remember security questions?

Locate the admin password in the packaged brochure

Locate the credentials from the packaged brochure shipped with the device

If you forget the admin password and the answers to your security questions, you can reset local admin data from the LAN using SSH:

Important

The commands above remove local admin data on the router. Use only when you control the device on your LAN and understand that existing admin accounts will be cleared.

If you need assistance with the above we are happy to assist - please send us a note.

Cannot access the internet?

Please make sure the router WAN cable is connected to the LAN port on your Internet Service Provider (ISP) modem (or upstream switch).

Reboot the router and try again. If the problem continues, see Troubleshooting and confirm the WAN link lights on both devices.

After reboot, register a new admin user through Initial setup. Contact UNpkl support if you need step-by-step help.

Search and blocking

Block or unblock commands seem ineffective

When you enter a command like block facebook, the Wi‑Fi network learns IP addresses as DNS resolves each site and blocks them. Results can take a moment to appear in Live data.

If blocking still looks wrong, note the exact command you used and contact support.

Mobile app

App stopped working — cannot log in

The most likely cause is an expired web certificate on the router.

We try to renew certificates automatically. To restore app access quickly:

  1. Open the router web interface in a browser and accept the self-signed certificate warning so you can sign in.
  2. In Search, run upgrade to install the latest build and certificates.

When the upgrade finishes, sign in again from the iOS or Android app.
